About the artwork
A blue line drawing shows a rocky coastline with grasses in the foreground and two small sailboats offshore. Hatching and fine lines describe the rocks, while the sea stays mostly open and pale. Against the pale ground, the single-colour palette gives the scene a crisp, graphic quality. The sky is only lightly suggested with a few soft clouds.
