About the artwork
Layered hills and dunes slope toward a grey-green sea beneath a towering bank of white and grey clouds. The painting uses loose, visible brushwork that keeps the scene soft at the edges. Muted sage, taupe and slate sit together without strong contrast, creating a restful atmosphere. The clouds give the upper half of the image a sense of weight and space.
